
Dr. M. A. Urbanczyk, Jr., has owned and operated Block House Creek Animal Hospital since it’s founding in 1988. With over 25 years experience in the general practice of veterinary medicine, Dr. Urbanczyk is also a USDA accredited veterinarian. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982, with degrees in Animal Science and Veterinary Science, and earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. His passion for animals, his commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine, and his dedication to his patients have won him the trust and loyalty of many long-time patients and their caregivers.
Dr. Jonathan Stone graduated from Texas A&M University Veterinary School with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Before returning to Austin to be closer to family in 2008, he practiced in Ashville, North Carolina. He has a special interest in surgery. When he is not attending to his beloved patients, Dr. Stone attends Jiu-Jitsu classes with his son.
Dr. Robert Rhyne graduated from Texas A&M University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After graduation, he practiced in Florida for eight years before returning to Texas in 1992. His pets include a female sheltie, Skittles, and two cats, Phoebe and Chi Chi. He enjoys saltwater fishing, mountain biking, and racquetball.
Bruce Lawhorn received his Veterinary Medicine degree, his Veterinary Science degree and his Veterinary Microbiology degree from Texas A&M by 1989. He has a special interest in the diagnosis, management, prevention, and control of swine diseases, swine surgical techniques, swine biologics, and new swine disease diagnostics techniques. He is also currently a visiting professor at Texas A&M University.
Dawn James, DVM, MBA, a native of Leander, Texas, joined our team as an associate veterinarian in May of 2011. She returned back to Central Texas after practicing as a relief veterinarian in Georgia. She received her BS, DVM and MBA degrees from Texas A&M University and is also USDA accredited. She is especially interested in feline internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, as well as the business and management aspects of the private veterinary practice. Dawn is married and has one furry child - Belle, a spunky brown tabby.
Stacy Curl graduated from the University of North Texas in 2007, and currently is pursuing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and will be our newest addition to the staff starting the first of the year.
Additionally, our reception staff, veterinary technician staff, and grooming and kennel staff are typically experienced in either the veterinary field or a related field; all receive in-house training in providing caring services to all our patients.
